Domestic Couple Required

A couple with a large house and garden set in 140 acres of grounds are looking for a Gardener/Handyman and Housekeeper/Cook to live onsite and look after the gardens, dogs and household during the week and over some weekends when required.

Candidates

The couple must work as a team and be willing to assist each other in their roles and as cover. As the couple travel a lot they are seeking a couple who are completely trustworthy, willing to undertake varied and diverse roles and who will enjoy a hands on role.
The couple must have some experience in the general household activities and be computer literate. They will be a fit, healthy, flexible and dynamic couple with a “Can Do” attitude.

Duties :
Gardener and maintenance duties and skills:
Mowing lawns
• Maintaining security of the house and grounds
• Caring for existing newly – established gardens
• Pest control
• Operation and good working knowledge of garden machinery (possession of a chainsaw licence would be of benefit though not essential)
• General property maintenance
• Swimming pool maintenance
• Liaison and management of external contractors where required

Housekeeper
Monthly household accounts and help with general admin
Managing arrangements for maintenance contractors for the maintenance of the house services including heating, cooling, pool etc
• The housekeeper will undertake all housekeeping duties to a high standard and ensure the smooth running of the household
Household cleaning
Laundry and ironing
• Cooking meals for the household - usually 5 times a week and other guests as required
• Running errands including grocery shopping
• Making the beds
Maintaining stock of cleaning and household supplies
Driving duties may be asked of one or both of you on the odd occasion.

Accommodation :

2 bedroom annexe at the end of the main house is provided.
Start date: September 2016
Days: Hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm with weekends off unless the couple is away, you are then asked to care for the dogs over the whole time they are away for. Car will be provided.
