I am a PhD graduate in Cultural Studies from the University of Edinburgh and have extensive experience teaching English in an academic setting, on a one-to-one basis and to a range of age-groups and abilities. I have a Trinity Cert TESOL qualification and have been teaching students for the past ten years. In addition, I also proofread documents for a range of purposes.
I am offering classes in English to help students:
- hone their critical writing skills in English for academic purposes, focusing on vocabulary, sentence structure, and other key components of essay writing
- progress with their general English conversational skills
- prepare important documents/presentations in English
- general guidance with any academic course at all levels of study; undergraduate, Master's, or PhD.
The price for these classes is £20 p/h with discounts negotiable for a set of classes booked together. Classes will take place in my home (near the Meadows), or at a suitable public location. Classes usually last for 1.5 hours but classes of 2 hours can be taken. I am also open to group lessons at a reduced rate.
I am offering proofreading services for:
- academic documents such as essays, reports, dissertations, thesis, articles, conference papers etc.
- general documents
- fiction/journalism
The price for proofreading services depends on the length and type of document, as well as your requirements (structural help versus basic grammar checks/typographical errors). If you send a sample of the work to the email address, along with how many pages the full document contains and the kind of assistance you require, I can give you an estimate of the cost of the job, free of charge.
