Description
Do you have some spare time on your hands?
Would you like to help a fantastic cause?
Are you enthusiastic and reliable?
If you answered 'yes' to these questions, then we would like to hear from you.
Save the Children are currently looking for volunteers over the age of 18 to work at our charity shop at 165 Byres Road. We are ideally looking for volunteers who would be available on Saturdays or Sundays. As a volunteer, you could be involved in:
• Sorting, steaming and pricing donated stock and arranging it neatly on the shop floor
• Interacting with our customers and raising awareness of what we do as a charity
• Working at the cash desk, processing payments accurately and providing excellent customer service
Your time and commitment is vital to the shop’s success, as you are helping us raise funds for children in crisis across the world.
We're looking for friendly, reliable and committed people who work well as part of a team and who would be genuinely interested in working in a charity shop. No experience is required as full training is provided. Volunteering is a fantastic chance to gain valuable skills in a retail environment and improve your confidence.
If you are interested, please reply to this ad. We will be in touch to arrange an informal interview which is a chance to address any questions you may have about volunteering, and to assess your availability. It is also worth noting that we require two references to volunteer with us, one of which should be professional. We look forward to hearing from you.
(Please note that this is an unpaid voluntary position. The shop does not offer any paid vacancies as we are a 100% volunteer run shop.)
