Description

Sadly due to a change of circumstances I am putting my Nordkapp up for sale.

The Nordkapp is a very long running model, made by Valley Canoe Products, and I am sure there are descriptions on the web. I think the UKRGB website has the history of the model on its Almanac pages. I think it is seen as a 'paddlers boat', which works better with a bit of a load in it. Nordkapps are thought of as pretty quick boats and I have been quite relieved by the pace that I have managed to maintain at the end of a long day.

This boat is a 25th Jubilee model, it has a round front hatch and day hatch, as well as a larger oval rear hatch. The cockpit is an ocean cockpit, for which I will include the spraydeck. There is an adjustable skeg, which is controlled by a slider next to the cockpit. I replaced the cable to that last year, and it operates more smoothly for it.

The hatches have been replaced by me as a set, which cost £100, and have been used about 4 times, so are like new.

There is a Silva 70 compass in the front deck recess and a manual pump located in front of the cockpit, for which the handle sits in a deck recess. I have added a keel strip of ' Keel Easy', which is a vinyl strip that is easily applied, or removed, with a heat gun.

There are repairs to the hull, with which I have had no problems and were watertight. Unfortunately when I looked at the boat today, I noticed hairline cracks in a repair. It is an easy fix with some epoxy resin. Otherwise the boat is sound and I have had confidence in it.

Viewings welcome for those with a genuine interest and I'm happy to answer questions regarding the boat.
