Job Title: Head of Learning and OD
Location: Westcliff-On-Sea, Southend
Salary: £66,582 - £74,825 per annum
Position: Full Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:
The Head of Learning and OD will use a collaborative and consultative approach, to deliver OD and leadership interventions and programmes to support the Trust's objectives; increase engagement; encourage continuous learning and increase the confidence and capability of our managers.
The post holder will also lead on statutory and mandatory training compliance to ensure that the hospital protects the safety of staff, visitors and the general public.
* To support the delivery of the priorities identified in the Trust's HR and OD Strategy, delivering systems and strategies that will improve organisational performance and quality through the development of the workforce.
* To manage the Learning and Organisational Development team within HR and have responsibility for the provision of an effective and sustainable learning and development function that builds the required capability in the workforce to deliver the strategic goals as outlined in the workforce strategy and ensures the workforce is compliant with the required regulatory standards.
* To develop high quality leadership development opportunities in the organisation and the provision of an effective framework for managing staff performance inclusive of the Trust's values and behaviours to achieve high quality services to be embedded in the Trust.
* Work with the services to assess the current and future leadership requirements and skills and to oversee the design of leadership development programmes to support these.
* To be responsible for the design and implementation of a talent management system and succession planning process in order to enable a balance of in house skills promotion with recruitment of appropriate external skills and experience.
* Ensure the Trust has a current workforce strategy and that developmental activity is taking place to secure the right talent is in the right place at the right time to achieve the Trust's vision and strategic objectives.
* Develop and lead a systematic education and training planning process that will lead to the development of a comprehensive learning and development offering that meets organisational, service, professional and individual needs; and that this is reviewed annually in line with the Trust's strategy and annual plan.
* Overall responsibility for operation and management of the iLearn.
Key Requirements:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Evidence of postgraduate study showing the acquisition of specialist knowledge in the areas of coaching, organisation development or psychometric testing
* CIPD Qualified
* Coaching experience
* Excellent up to date knowledge of the Leadership & OD subject area.
* Understanding of the key education and training issues affecting staff groups across the Trust.
* Experience in identifying training needs and delivering large-scale learning solutions.
* Experience designing and delivering appraisal and performance management systems.
