ChildLine Glasgow Volunteer Email Counsellor
Description
Can you use your email skills to help children and young people?
Spend your free time doing something worthwhile - be a volunteer email counsellor with ChildLine Glasgow.
ChildLine is the UK's free and confidential helpline service for children and young people who need to talk. ChildLine provides a confidential phone and online counselling service for any child with any problem.
Email volunteering is a new role at ChildLine which we’re currently recruiting to. Our email service allows young people to send us secure messages from their ChildLine online account on any subject they choose. Currently we can't answer every contact - can you help us change that?
We need a team of dedicated email volunteers in our Liverpool, Glasgow, Birmingham & Belfast bases to support children and young people by email. No previous experience of counselling or working with children is needed, as full training and support is provided. You will gain worthwhile communication skills and experience of working in a team environment. Volunteering takes place at our Glasgow base at Templeton House, 62 Templeton St, Glasgow G40 1DA.
If you click on the "Apply" button it will take you to our website where you'll get more information and if you want to you can complete an online application.
We hold Volunteering Information Meetings (VIMs) where you can find out more – to see the dates check our Gumtree ad titled "ChildLine Volunteering Information Meetings".
If you'd like to speak to someone about volunteering please call ChildLine Glasgow on 0141 212 3878.
Please be aware that the recruitment process takes some time. In order to allow time for interviews, references and PVG checks to be undertaken prior to training in spring 2016, you will need to submit an application as soon as possible.
ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC, Registered charity numbers 216401 and SCO37717.
